Residents of Keyser or Butler Township in Indiana can obtain a library card from Garrett Public Library at no cost. Proof of residency must be provided with a picture ID when applying for a card. A resident is any family or individual who lives inside the library’s taxing district.
The Garrett Public Library serves any DeKalb County residents that have a library card with one of the county’s libraries. We also have a reciprocal borrowing agreement with numerous other libraries throughout the state. This agreement means that if you have a library card for one of these libraries, and are in good standing with your home library, you may obtain a Garrett library card at no charge.
Non-residents of Keyser or Butler Townships will be charged a Membership Fee for a library card. The current cost of a membership is $61 annually for an individual, or $70 annually for a family.
